The Educator in Charge

Welcome to our classroom website! I’m Mr. Ian Matthews Ed.S., an 8th Grade Science teacher at West Bolivar High School. I graduated from Ray Brooks School (Benoit, MS) in 2016 and began my academic journey at Coahoma Community College. I earned a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Allied Health from Delta State University in 2020, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2022. I completed my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University in 2024.

I’m a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and I bring a deep commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and leadership to the classroom. With a strong background in athletics, student leadership, and community engagement, I strive to foster a learning environment that is structured, competitive, and student-centered.
